Cranham’s ‘Pets as Therapy Dog’, Percy Palmer, visited the school this week to be reacquainted with children. 

Pets as Therapy is a national charity that offers a ‘Read2Dog’ scheme, which aims to gradually improve the literacy skills of children. By reading to a dog, in a quiet area, away from their peers and without any pressure, children gain confidence in reading.

Regular visits by Percy aim to provide pupils at Cranham Primary with comfort, encourage positive social behaviours, enhance self-esteem, motivate speech and inspire fun.
