Rachel Cummings
English and Upper KS2 Teaching and Learning
Rachel is the English lead in a three-form entry primary school in Worcester and a county writing moderator. She delivers regular CPD to staff as well as school-to-school support. Rachel is an ITT and NQT mentor and has a Master’s degree in Education specialising in Mentoring and Coaching.
Andrea Donelley
English
Andrea is in her twenty-fifth year of teaching. During this time, she has worked in Birmingham and Worcester and taught across the EYFS and primary age range. Particular responsibilities have included English lead and leading assessment. Andrea has been deputy head for the past six years. She supports staff in her own school and offers school-to-school support to local schools to develop aspects of leadership and teaching and learning, particularly in English and assessment. Andrea has previous experience of KS2 moderating and is currently a KS1 moderator for Babcock.
Bob Harris
English
Bob has over twenty years’ experience as an English lead. Currently, he is assistant head teacher at a large primary school in Worcester and has also been part of the Rivers CofE Academy Trust’s School Improvement Team. He has supported schools across the county to improve outcomes in English, including developing English pedagogy, reviewing and evaluating English provision and supporting new English leads. Bob has also supported teachers to secure assessment judgements in Key Stage One and Two for internal and external moderation.
Jann McPherson
English
Jann has over seventeen years’ experience of teaching and is currently Deputy Head, KS2 Lead, Y5 Teacher and subject leader for English, History and MFL in a Primary school in Worcestershire. Jann was a key lead in the research project, Authors and Editors: Learning Partners for Writing and she provides CPD in editing and improving and planning sequences of learning to include key genre features of Writing for other schools, including secondary schools. She has significant experience with formulating English action plans for school-to-school support.
Emma Rowe
English and Curriculum
Emma is currently Assistant Head Teacher at a primary school in Worcestershire. She is an experienced English and Curriculum leader and has implemented substantial changes and new working practices across the whole primary age range to improve teaching, learning and outcomes in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, speaking and listening. Emma has led training across a number of schools as well as to trainee teachers.
Cathy Spence
English
Cathy is an experienced teacher across key stages and has extensive experience of leading English across schools. Before teaching Cathy was a senior press officer in Whitehall as well as being an event management at a large London University. Cathy taught and lead English at Great Malvern Primary for eight years. She is now Reading Lead at St Barnabas C.E Primary, Worcester. Cathy has a wealth of experience including building a reading culture within schools, organising author visits and events, supporting colleagues in effective teaching of reading, modelling lessons and delivering a range of professional development, regionally and nationally as well as in her own school. She is also a National Teacher Champion for the Guardian’s NewsWise project.
