Summerhill Garden Project
Pupils have been busy at Summerhill Primary Academy, transforming the garden area. The ground has been cleared, seeds planted, and fences built. The pupils have planted a range of herbs and vegetables including pumpkins, parsnips, chives, beans, cauliflowers, sunflowers and basil. The pupils were very keen to plant the pumpkins as they are hoping to be able to carve them at Halloween. They also plan to sell any fruit or vegetables.
The pupils are already displaying entrepreneurial spirit and an awareness of living sustainably, which is a key part of our new curriculum framework.
