Sing, Speak and Shine: Transforming Oracy Skills Through Music and Performance
Sing, Speak and Shine is an exciting project funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation in collaboration with Severn Arts.
This initiative will bring music and performance to eight schools within the trust in areas of higher need (Cranham, Dudley Wood, Unity, Burlish Park, Heronswood, St Clement’s, Summerhill and Jubilee Park).
The project aims to enhance oracy skills by equipping teachers with innovative, non-traditional tools. Through body percussion, rap, and spoken word performance, pupils will build confidence, articulate their opinions, and express themselves powerfully. These tools will be integrated into the trust oracy framework, ensuring long-term benefits for pupils.
The programme will culminate in performances showcasing pupils' learning and an e-toolkit for teachers.
