North Worcester artwork in Worcester Cathedral exhibition
Pupils, teachers and staff at North Worcester Primary Academy took part in an art project for the Young Voices New Visions annual exhibition, organised by Severn Arts.
In response to the 2021 exhibition theme ‘Gratitude’, the school created a mixed media ‘gratitude tree’ made from textiles and painted with acrylic paint. The leaves on the tree represented things that pupils and staff were thankful for, such as food, family, teachers and life.
Monika Kasperek, Pre-school Practitioner who lead the project said “The process was quite long but children were so excited [to be involved]” Pupils with special educational needs found it particularly enjoyable with one pupils saying of the experience “it was so peaceful”.
The exhibition aims to celebrate the creativity of children and young people in Worcestershire, with over 30 schools participating.
You can see North Worcester Primary Academy’s artwork on display at Worcester Cathedral until Sunday 11th July 2021.
