Maggie Lisseman's journey to outstanding
Congratulations to Maggie Lisseman of Great Witley CE Primary School who won the Support Staff of the Year award and was chosen as the overall winner in the Worcestershire Education Awards 2022.
Maggie was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award due to her tireless efforts and dedication to her school.
Maggie has worked at the school for over 25 years, and in that time she has held a multitude of positions.
Maggie’s association with Great Witley CE Primary school started in September 1977 when following the closure of Shelsley Beauchamp CE Primary School she moved to Great Witley.
Maggie’s parents and their siblings had attend Great Witley and her great uncles are on the War Memorial Board in the school hall.
A few years later Maggie’s children attended Great Witley and it was at this point that she started working as a TA in year 1. A few years later when the caretaker retired Maggie took on another role as cleaner in charge and also as a lunchtime supervisor. When the school introduced Forest School Maggie found her niche added a new role to become the Forest School TA. More recently, during lockdown Maggie supported the cleaning at another Rivers school and also works at Witley Wrap. During her time at Great Witley Maggie has worked for 4 different head’s, worked with numerous staff and supported hundreds of children.
