Cranham Primary School Ofsted: Inspiring Ambition and Nurturing Success
Cranham Primary School, part of The Rivers CofE Academy Trust, has been commended in its latest Ofsted inspection for maintaining the ‘Good’ standards identified at the previous inspection.
Key Highlights from the Ofsted Report:
Welcoming atmosphere and sense of community
During the inspection in October 2024, inspectors praised the school for its “welcoming and nurturing environment”, where “pupils feel happy and safe.”
The school is well known for its strong relationships with families which Ofsted acknowledged stating “Pastoral support is incredibly strong.” The “highly positive school environment” creates a “real sense of community.”
The report highlights the school’s commitment to creating a nurturing and aspirational environment, where pupils thrive both academically and personally.
Positive pupil behaviour and development
Pupils were described as "extremely polite” and praised by inspectors for their “exemplary” behaviour and enthusiasm for learning.
“The personal development offer is exceptional. Enrichment opportunities are carefully considered to enhance the curriculum and to raise aspirations.”
Expert staff and enriching curriculum
Staff were commended for their high expectations for all pupils and “excellent support” for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
“Staff’s strong expertise” contributes to the curriculum, with early English and mathematics being delivered “extremely successfully.”
The report emphasises the significant progress made by pupils, attributing this success to the school’s “ambitious and rich curriculum.”
The Rivers CofE Academy Trust's support was recognised for ensuring Cranham provides “pupils with a rich set of experiences to enable them to thrive.”
Headteacher Charlotte Barnett expressed her pride in the school’s achievements, stating, “We are incredibly proud to maintain our ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement, the report showcases the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.
