The first computer generated images of North Worcester Primary Academy, which is due to open in Perdiswell in September 2019, have been released. The brand new, ultra modern school building will utilise the very latest education-specific, design ideas and technology, providing the optimum teaching and learning environment.
Classrooms will be light and spacious with climate control to maximise pupil comfort and concentration. Design-led room layouts will assist best teaching practice, include age-specific library areas and interconnected break out areas for one-to-one support.
Specialist subject rooms will give the space and resources for pupils to take part in regular practical activities in STEM subjects and food technology. A dedicated studio room will provide specialist space for music, technology and dance.
There will be a strong emphasis on pastoral care and the building designs incorporate a dedicated nurture/reflection room to facilitate this. A fully functioning kitchen will allow delicious fresh food to be prepared and cooked on site.
Outside, an astro-turf sports area will enable children to engage in outdoor sports all year round, which mature trees and shrubs provide the perfect environment for Forest School activities.
NWPA is managed by of the thriving Rivers Multi Academy Trust. Kate Brunt, CEO of the Rivers MAT said:
“It is very exciting to be creating a new school from scratch. Within the MAT we are continually collaborating and sharing learning from all nine of our schools and as such we have been able to cherry-pick some of the best features from other schools and build them into the design of NWPA. The new building will bring many fantastic opportunities for our future pupils and our new school community.”
