A pop of colour on the gates of St Peter’s Droitwich C of E Academy
The children of St Peter’s Droitwich C of E Academy have been busy making poppies, some of which are displayed on the school gates. The poppies come in a variety of designs using lots of different materials, including painted stones, paper plates, buttons and pipe cleaners to name a few. This arty activity will be supported by a Collective Worship next week where the meaning of remembrance will be discussed.
Mrs O’Keeffe-Pullan, Headteacher, said “The children have created some beautiful poppies this year and it is lovely to be able to share these by displaying them on the gates of the school. We would welcome those passing by to take a moment to enjoy the display and to remember our brave service men and women, past and present”.
Photographed here is part of the display which includes a wreath of painted hands made by Kai James and on the ground a slice of log with painted poppies by Rosie Groves.
