Religious Education

Our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is carefully designed using the Dudley, Sandwell and Worcestershire agreed syllabuses to give pupils a rich and balanced understanding of Christianity alongside other major world religions and world-views.

For younger children, learning begins with simple but meaningful questions about belonging, special places and stories, helping them to explore their own experiences while beginning to understand the beliefs of others. As pupils move through school, they build their knowledge progressively by studying key Christian concepts such as Creation, Incarnation and Salvation, alongside learning about Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism and Humanism, ensuring they develop a broad and respectful understanding of different faiths and cultures.

The curriculum encourages pupils to ask thoughtful questions about life, belief and meaning, exploring, for example, how beliefs influence lifestyles, how communities celebrate, and how religion can contribute to a fairer and more respectful society. By the time they leave us, children are equipped with the knowledge, empathy and critical thinking skills needed to understand diversity, reflect on their own beliefs and values, and play a positive role in modern British society.
