Feedback and experience from our recent NPQ delegates.
I’ve undertaken several leadership NPQs but the specialist NPQLTD has been the most useful one.
The work is manageable and supports and enhances the work you are already doing in school day-to-day.
The research is current and the opportunity to meet others and share practice is invaluable. If we don’t develop teachers, then teaching and learning doesn’t improve.

What motivated you to do the NPQLL?
I chose to undertake this NPQLL because I have an interest in literacy, especially reading. I love teaching phonics and feel that this is a strength of mine. I want to broaden my skills and expand my repertoire outside of class teaching. I would love to be able to spend more time across other year groups, contributing to whole school development.
I am hopeful that undertaking the NPQLL will equip me with skills to lead literacy in school. I really hope this course aids the progression of my career in education.
Future aspirations: I love teaching and want to keep that at the centre of my job role, but feel keen and ready to have more responsibility within the school by leading a core subject.

Role: Year 4 Class Teacher and Co-lead Science and DT
What motivated you to do the NPQLL?
I decided to apply for the NPQLL as I've always enjoyed planning and teaching English, and want to support my school in co-leading English too.
I believe the NPQLL will allow me to access the most relevant and up-to-date research on delivering English lessons effectively in school.
Future aspirations: Having extra qualifications and experiences will hopefully open up new opportunities for me in the future.

What motivated you to do the NPQLT?
I wanted to undertake the NPQ in Leading Teaching to enhance my knowledge and skill set in subject leadership. I am excited to share my experiences with peers and support people when necessary. An appeal of the NPQ is working collaboratively amongst like-minded individuals whilst being guided by high-quality tutors and mentors.
Future aspirations: My long-term aspiration would be to become a deputy head or senior leader within a primary setting.

What motivated you to do the NPQEY?
I chose to undertake an NPQEY as I have been in a management role for a few years now and would really like to gain some more professional connections and learn from others and their experiences. We are a very reflective practice and constantly striving to do more for the children by driving our curriculum forward. It felt like an opportune time for me to take on another qualification that would not only benefit myself professionally but the staff and the setting also.
