The Rivers C. of E. Academy Trust is an outward-looking multi-academy trust and we welcome contact from individual schools and groups of schools considering conversion to academy status.
We are a primary-specialist trust with a mix of primary, first and nursery settings. We offer experience and expertise in early years and primary education and other related areas such as wrap-around care and holiday provision. All our schools benefit from our established and fully embedded culture of collaboration.
We are a trust of choice with a strong track record of effective school development and improvement. Our school improvement team works in partnership with all our schools to fulfil our mission to provide an extraordinary education for every pupil through strong leadership, high-quality curriculum delivery and an ambitious, relevant and inclusive curriculum.
Fifteen of our sixteen schools have a current Ofsted inspection judgement: three schools have a judgement of ‘outstanding’, one is ‘good and improving’ and eleven are judged to be ‘good’.
We are proud to be a people-focused trust. As part of our 2030 strategy, we are committed to empowering our staff to thrive and be bold and innovative in their contribution to providing an extraordinary education for every pupil. Our commitment to staff includes:
In line with our trust’s values and culture, we are a capacity giver as well as a capacity receiver in the system. We take pride in adding value to others where we can but are humble and take opportunities to learn from others also.
We have a strong central team, which is front-line focused and supports our schools with exceptional central services. The trust’s central team includes successful school leaders, a former HMI, current Ofsted inspectors and experts in finance, IT, human resources and communications, operations, governance and marketing.
Designed in direct response to the changing governance needs of a multi-academy trust, our cutting-edge governance structure has been operating successfully since September 2022. The purpose of this innovative model is threefold:
Our members and trustees have a broad range of skills and an exceptional track record of governing our schools. Trustees apply a ‘capacity before growth’ mindset and oversee the excellent financial health of our trust. Working in tandem with trustees, school advocates ensure that the local voice is heard at board level and informs the strategic direction of the trust. A more detailed description of the roles and responsibilities of our governance team can be found on the governance page.
