MEE

MEE logoAt The Rivers C. of E. Academy Trust, we believe education should be inspiring and empowering. My Extraordinary Experiences (MEE) is our exciting programme of enrichment for pupils, fostering personal development and providing an extraordinary education to every pupil.

What is MEE?

MEE is our enrichment programme, providing all pupils, from Reception to the end of their first/primary school education, with the opportunity to complete twenty special activities.

MEE aligns closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. MEE supports this goal by providing all pupils with access to enriching activities that enhance their personal development and learning experiences.

By integrating these activities into the curriculum, MEE ensures that every child can thrive, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom and into their future lives.

What are the enrichment activities?

The activities are grouped into four categories:

Act and think collaboratively:

  • Attend a sporting event

  • Showcase my work

  • Work with a different generation

  • Complete a project with others

  • Spend a night away with others

Act and think creatively:

  • Run an enterprise project

  • See a live performance

  • Visit an art gallery/museum

  • Learn to play an instrument

  • Invent something new and build it

Act and think fairly:

  • Visit a place of worship

  • Spend a day in the past

  • Raise money for charity

  • Learn about different careers

  • Take part in a debate

Act and think sustainably:

  • Plant something and watch it grow

  • Create or help care for a habitat space

  • Volunteer in my local area

  • Visit a wildlife trust heathland/nature reserve

  • Learn to ride a bike

How will it be delivered?

Each school has created enrichment experiences tailored to its community, size, and location that meet the twenty MEE activities.

One school might host a theatre performance, while another might visit a theatre to watch a musical.

Over the years, children will complete each activity and document their journey on the web-based MEE platform using photographs, pictures, and words.

MEE benefits

MEE gives children memorable experiences that help them to explore, grow, and reach their full potential.  When they finish, they will celebrate with a MEE graduation.

MEE also helps children talk to parents about their learning experiences and achievements.
