ECT Recruitment Day 2023
Wed 08 Mar 2023Students on the Rivers Teaching Alliance School Direct teacher training course attended a morning of observation, presentations and interviews at the ECT Recruitment Day.
The ECT Recruitment Day aims to give teacher trainees the opportunity to go through the teacher recruitment process, with the possibility of a teaching job at the end of it.
The ECT Recruitment Day is a unique opportunity for trainees on the Rivers Teaching Alliance School Direct course to experience what is involved in teacher recruitment.
This year there were 10 applicants on the recruitment day (9 currently on the Rivers Teaching Alliance School Direct teacher training programme and one University of Worcester student currently on placement in a Rivers school).
What did the ECT Recruitment Day involve?
Trainees had to deliver a class whilst being observed by two headteachers. They then delivered a 5 minute presentation on what they can bring to Rivers. The final stage of the recruitment day was a formal interview.
The Rivers Teaching Alliance started in 2016. Since then, 102 trainees have completed training with us, and 28 trainee teachers have been recruited through the recruitment day.
