CEO's Blog 17th December 2021
Fri 17 Dec 2021CEO’s Blog 17th December 2021
Thank you
As we reach the end of another very busy term, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in our Rivers family for their continued hard work, commitment and positivity.
This term has seen the successful launch of our enhanced curriculum which, I am thrilled to report, is already having a positive impact in the classroom! This has been a fantastic team effort combining expertise from across the trust and beyond. Our school improvement team, heads, teachers and support staff, together with the support of external experts such as Professor Mick Waters and David Barclay and the backing of our governance team, have all worked incredibly hard to create and implement this exciting, twenty-first century curriculum for all Rivers’ pupils.
We have had a number of eminent visitors this term, including Robin Walker MP, Minister for Schools; Andrew Warren, Regional Schools Commissioner for West Midlands; Professor Mick Waters, previously the Director of Curriculum at the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and Louis Stephens, Green Party Councillor. They have all been impressed with the innovative and progressive nature of our curriculum. I am already looking forward to sharing our ideas with Professor Dame Alison Peacock, the CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching and a National Leader in Education, next term.
Across the trust, we are continuing to work hard to fulfil our commitment to the UN’s sustainable development goals that underpin our curriculum. I hope that you will keep these goals in mind during the Christmas break. I will certainly be recycling and reusing my wrapping paper, reducing food waste and packaging and abandoning the use of glitter and sequins and I look forward to hearing about your sustainable festive ideas and experiences when we return in January.
Finally, I wish you all a safe, relaxing, happy and sustainable Christmas.
