Schools gain Trauma Informed Practitioner status
Wed 22 Jun 2022Congratulations to our 7 Worcestershire schools that have gained Trauma Informed Practitioner status.
Burlish Park Primary School, Cherry Orchard Primary School, Cutnall Green CofE Primary School, Heronswood Primary School, Northwick Manor Primary School, St Peter’s Droitwich CofE Academy and Wychbold First and Nursery School have all put representatives through the training provided by Worcestershire Virtual School.
Trauma-informed training empowers and enables key staff to respond effectively to mild to moderate mental health problems.
A trauma informed school is one that is able to support children who suffer from trauma or mental health problems and whose troubled behaviour acts as a barrier to learning.

Summerhill maintain GOOD school Ofsted status
Mon 20 Jun 2022Congratulations to the staff and pupils at Summerhill Primary Academy for maintaining their 'Good' Ofsted status.
Following an Ofsted inspection, in March 2022 Summerhill Primary Academy continues to be a good school.

"Pupils behave extremely well. They are excited by their learning and treat each other and adults with great respect".

New Head appointed at St Clement's
Fri 17 Jun 2022We are delighted to inform you that we have appointed Miss Rebecca Mclean as the new Headteacher for St Clement’s CofE Primary School.
Rebecca will officially join our family of schools in September.
Rebecca is an experienced and influential leader with over ten years of teaching experience, the past six working in senior leadership within the Elliot Foundation. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her and has a passion and determination for children to achieve the best that they can.
Rebecca will be spending time in school over the new few weeks getting to know the children and staff.

CEO speaks at Confederation of School Trusts conference 2022
Thu 16 Jun 2022CEO, Kate Brunt spoke at the national CST annual conference for executive and governance leaders of School Trusts alongside The Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP, Secretary of State for Education; Stephen Morgan MP, Shadow Schools Minister; Dame Rachel de Souza, Children’s Commissioner for England; Amanda Spielman, HMCI; Dr Jo Saxton, Chief Regulator; David Olusoga OBE, historian broadcaster and author.
Kate’s session at the two day event gave the audience an insight into the growth of a successful MAT and detail the roadmap to become one ‘family’ of schools.

Dudley Wood Primary School and Pre-school join the trust
Wed 01 Jun 2022We are excited to announce that Dudley Wood Primary School and Pre-school has joined our trust.
Sarah Guest, Headteacher at Dudley Wood Primary School said “We have been working towards this transfer arrangement for some time and we are delighted that it has been finally agreed upon.
In preparation for our transfer, many of the staff at Dudley Wood have already had the opportunity to work with colleagues from the trust in the design and adoption of an enhanced curriculum. It has been a privilege to be involved in this work.
Like us, the Trust are passionate about learning and the curriculum is engaging, inspiring and challenging for all learners.”
Established in 2014, our trust is based across Worcestershire, Sandwell and now Dudley.
Each of our 15 schools has its uniqueness; however, the schools all share the same vision and STARS values that place the children at the heart of everything. Our vision is to teach children to love, learn, and live as global citizens in an ever-changing world. This vision is achieved through working to the STARS values of sharing, trust, achievement, respect and safety.
