Nick Mossop - Chair of Trustees & Member
Nick is currently Chair of Trustees and liaison for all Business and Financial Activities for the Trust. Nick is a self-motivated individual and currently owns a group of public houses within Worcestershire and bordering counties. Nick enjoys contributing fully to the pursuit of continuous improvement, quality and to achieving the highest possible standards within the trust.
Anna Streather - Vice Chair and Liaison of Teaching and Learning
I was Head Teacher of two primary schools before I retired, one two form entry city primary school and prior to that a rural Church of England primary school.
Since retiring I have lectured in primary science at the University of Worcester on the PGCE Primary Route. I am currently completing my Masters in Education, Leadership and Management degree, focussing on Governance.
Kate Brunt - CEO / Executive Principal / Accounting Officer for the Trust
In 2013 Kate took on the role of Executive Head over two schools and then moved to become Executive Principal of The Rivers Academy Trust in 2014. With Rivers CofE Academy Trust growing over the last two years her role has altered to CEO /Executive Principal over 7 schools, one 'outstanding' pre-school, and a growing Teaching School.
In addition to being a member of this board Kate is a member of Headteacher Board, a member of the Department of Education's Headteacher Reference Group, a National Leader in Education, and a Lead Ofsted Inspector. Kate is a driven individual that thrives on a challenge and believes school leadership and school to school support are essential in order to drive school improvement and ensure better outcomes for children.
Paul West - Trustee
Paul West joined the Board in September 2016 as our Diocesan Representative. He has thirty-two years of policing experience, including thirteen years as a chief officer and eight years as the Chief Constable of West Mercia Policy. In 2011 he was joint Director of the Indian Police Service Mid-Career Training Programme in Hyderabad, India. He has been the Bishop of Worcester's Criminal Justice Affairs advisor since 2012. He is an independent member of the Judicial Appointments Commission, sits on Policy Appeals Tribunals in Northern Ireland and is a member of the Prison Service Pay Review Body. He has previously been a Governor of the University of Worcester and is currently Chair of Governors at Bromsgrove School. Paul is looking forward to bringing his vast experience of governance to the Board.
Carl Nichols - Trustee
Carl Joined Rivers in January 2016 and is a General Manager and currently Head of WRAP Cymru. WRAP Cymru delivers programmes in Wales to significantly reduce waste and maximise recycling. Carl works with funders to develop strategies, oversee delivery and budgets and hopes to use this experience to help Rivers. Carl has an MBA from Warwick Business School, MSc in Environmental Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Geology as well as being the Climate Change Commissioner for Wales.
Sue Mason - Trustee
Sue is a retired Headteacher and brings with her a commitment to children's learning and well-being in schools. Over her 20 years' experience she has led schools through numerous successful Ofsted inspections, and worked closely with HMI in bringing a school out of special measures. Sue fully appreciates the need for schools, governors, leaders and staff to be accountable whilst holding a firm commitment to every individual child. Sue now works at King's, Worcester as a Primary Schools Liaison Manager.
Andy Jobbins - Trustee
Andy joined the trust in February 2018, following a move to the area from Norfolk. After a 40-year career in the Manufacturing Sector, first qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant and then moving into senior general management roles with GKN and FKI, Andy moved to the United States to lead the Taylor Made Group as their President and Chief Operating Officer. After 5 years he made the decision to retire and move home in late 2015. Shortly after returning to the UK, Andy joined The Evolution Academy Trust in Norwich and became their Chair of Trustees and is very much looking forward to bringing this experience to the Board.
Caroline Hoddinott - Member
Caroline has been the Headteacher of Haybridge High School and Sixth From since 2007/8. Haybridge was designated a Teaching School in 2011 and since then Caroline has led the way for a School-Led system in Worcestershire which has accumulated with recently being awarded status as a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT).
Caroline brings with her a high level of educational experience and is looking forward to supporting Rivers.
Sally Yates - Member
Sally has worked in senior leadership for thirty years which included being headteacher of Deanery Primary for 13 years, moving it from satisfactory to outstanding and sustaining this for its last two inspections. Sally is currently an Education Advisor, supporting and challenging primary school headteachers. She is also a member of the West Midland Headteacher's Board, a school governor and currently chairs an Interim Academy Board. Sally believes that all children have the right to a good education and all talents and abilities should be nurtured and developed.
Susanna Taylor - Company Secretary
Susanna Taylor joined the Rivers MAT Trust as MAT Finance Manager in July 2016 and is responsible for business services including finance systems and processes. Susanna is a FCCA qualified accountant with eight years school business management experience. Susanna is also a Specialist Leader of Education for School Business Management and has supported schools with business and finance systems, processes and reporting.
Wendy McVicar - Clerk to Board
Wendy McVicar joined the Rivers MAT in June 2015 and is Executive Assistant to CEO of the Trust.
Wendy comes to the trust with over 20 years' experience in education, predominately in Higher Education.
